48 hour website build: behind the scenes
People hear "48 hour website build" and assume it means cutting corners. It does not. It means cutting out the meetings and the approvals through three departments. It also cuts the back-and-forth that drags most projects out for weeks. It also drops the discovery phase. No one needs a workshop for a four-page site. Here is what actually happens from the moment you submit the ten-minute intake form.
I run sevenbyseven, a one-person web studio in Perth. I build sites for small businesses across WA, with a focus on the northern suburbs. Joondalup and Wanneroo are regular spots for me. I have also worked with businesses in Hillarys and Mindarie. Some of my clients are based in Clarkson and Quinns Rocks too. The 48-hour promise is for the Launch package. Presence and Growth take a little longer because they have more pages. Express turns any package around in 24 hours for an extra $300.
Hour zero: the intake form
The form at sevenbyseven.com.au/start asks the questions I actually need. What do you do? Who do you help? What makes you different? What do you want visitors to do? Should they call or email? Or fill a form? You also send logos and photos, plus any existing branding.
This is where most projects slow down in traditional agencies. Not here. Three departments do not need to review your About page. One person does. If the form is complete, I start the clock. If it is not complete, I ask for the missing pieces before I begin. The 48 hours counts from completed intake, not from first contact. That keeps it fair for both of us.
Hours one to eight: research and structure
I look at your competitors and your industry, plus the way customers search for what you offer. I decide what pages you need. I nail down the main message. Then I figure out the order information should appear in. For a one-page Launch site, this is one long scroll with clear sections. For bigger packages, I map out the site structure.
I also think about SEO from the start. The right headings and page titles go in during this phase, along with local terms. That is not an afterthought. If you are targeting Perth or a specific northern suburb, that goes into the copy naturally.
Hours nine to twenty four: writing and design
This is where the site starts as a blank file. No templates. I write the copy based on what you told me in the form, then build the design around the message. Photos and colours come together with fonts and layout. The design has one job: make it easy for a visitor to trust you and take the next step.
Because it is hand-built, I can keep the code lean. No unused theme files. No plugin bloat. Just the markup and styles the page actually needs. That is why the finished site loads under a second on a phone.
Hours twenty five to thirty six: the preview link
I send you a preview link. You open it on your phone, your laptop, and anywhere else you like. This is your chance to say "this heading is wrong" or "can we swap that photo?" You might also catch something practical, like an outdated phone number. You get two revision rounds with Launch, and more with Presence or Growth. Most feedback is small and quick.
I do not do unlimited revision rounds because that is how projects die. Two focused rounds keep us moving and protect the 48-hour timeline. If you need more, we can talk about it, but most clients do not.
Hours thirty seven to forty eight: final changes and launch
I make the agreed changes. I run final checks on mobile and desktop. I test the forms and links, then push the site live. Your domain connects, SSL activates, and Cloudflare starts serving the pages fast. I send you a handover note with your login details and a copy of the site.
That is the 48 hour website build process in plain English. No magic, just a tight workflow that respects your time.
